How Does It Work?
Discount-Licensing.com identifies surplus or disused ‘volume’ license agreements ('Select' / 'Open')
from worldwide solvent and insolvent organizations. We are a registered Microsoft partner and an
authorized international reseller with a unique concept that is fully acknowledged by Microsoft
as a legal business model. Discount-Licensing.com is legally entitled to sell the ownership of
the pre-owned licenses. We also strictly adhere to Microsoft’s license Terms & Conditions, which
request that every new customer agrees to the transfer of the license agreement and product Use Rights.

Is it 100% Legal?
Discount-Licensing.com sells and transfers the rights of ownership to your business by supplying the
unique license agreement details, which is deemed delivery of product. Microsoft also requests that
you agree to the license agreement and product use rights, although note that this is the end
customer's responsibility and does not alter the prior transfer of ownership. Microsoft's own
'Notice of Perpetual Transfer' form is signed by you and subsequently sent to Microsoft. This
process gives you 100% certainty that you have the legal ‘right to use’ the licenses in the
eyes of the software manufacturer and not just the 'right of ownership'. Your business may
need more than just a reseller’s invoice, purchase certificate or notary’s attestation.
Pre-owned ‘Select’ licensing: To guarantee proof of ownership and transfer of the license
agreement / product use rights, Microsoft requires the “select agreement, applicable enrolment,
customer’s order confirmation, proof of complete payment, along with the notice of transfer form”.

Pre-owned ‘Open’ licensing: The necessary 'notice of perpetual transfer' form is still required
by Microsoft, whereby the new transferee agrees to the transfer of the license agreement and
product use rights. Microsoft retains final authority in updating all pre-owned license transfers
on its own eOpen website, although note that changes to eOpen do not affect your rights of ownership,
which will have already been previously transferred to you by Discount-Licensing upon delivery of
license product (supply of your unique license agreement details).

New Installations and License Compliance.
Companies may purchase pre-owned licensing either for new software installations or when a company
realizes that it is not license compliant (before or after a Software Asset Management ‘SAM’ audit).
A company has the legal right to purchase either ‘pre-owned’ and/or ‘new’ licensing in order to
correct its non-license compliant position ongoing.
